Present - Enjoy the Gift! by Alicia Briscoe

Fruitful Thought: Are you content or present in the present moment? I know you are probably thinking "What you talking about Willis" in your Gary Colman voice. I believe we experience both states of being when it comes to the present. We are easily distracted by either the next big thing or stuck in our comfort zone. Let's explore the present in both states and see if you agree. If we are honest, we view being content in the present moment as things are going good in our world and we don't want any problems. The state of being content means - satisfied where you are, who you are and what you have. It doesn't mean you are free from trials, obstacles, or the issues of life. It just means your perspective and focus is different. The bible says “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” ( Matthew 6

Past - Let Go and Let God! by Alicia Briscoe

Fruitful Thought: Do you regret or hold on to the past? Let's explore the past for a moment. I believe some of us look at the past in two ways- (1) with regret of either doing or not doing something during that time; (2) with missing the goodness that happened during that time which we refer to as "the good old days". We must understand that the past is a season of time in our lives that is going to happen and it's relevant for that time. It is meant for us to treasure, reminisce and learn from it. Often times we either get stuck in it or try to figure out how to change it. The past is necessary in our lives it help develop us to who we are to become. It is a part of our development process as we strive for the purpose God has for us. Of course it is natural to think you could've done some things differently or desire to have stayed in that state. Eventually, you must let it go if you plan to receive something new. "Living in the regrets of yesterday

Future :Anxious or Dread it? by Alicia Briscoe

Fruitful Thought: Are you anxious or dreading the future? Let’s be honest, we all have found ourselves doing both at some point in our lives. Often times the future can stir up emotions within us to cause us to become anxious and dreadful about it. As children we are anxious to become older and some parents dread that fact. Then there are some of us who are anxious to embark on the future and whereas other dread the change that comes with it. I believe this is because we don't know what to expect and we have little or no control of it. The reality is that the future is a mysterious and unfamiliar territory which is enviable and necessary for us to grow. Although we can plan and prepare for it, the outcome is not solely based on our abilities. The good news is that God created us and he knows the beginning and the end. He knows what is to come and where we all fit in the grand scheme of things. The Bible teaches " For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’
