Past - Let Go and Let God! by Alicia Briscoe

Fruitful Thought: Do you regret or hold on to the past? Let's explore the past for a moment. I believe some of us look at the past in two ways- (1) with regret of either doing or not doing something during that time; (2) with missing the goodness that happened during that time which we refer to as "the good old days". We must understand that the past is a season of time in our lives that is going to happen and it's relevant for that time. It is meant for us to treasure, reminisce and learn from it. Often times we either get stuck in it or try to figure out how to change it. The past is necessary in our lives it help develop us to who we are to become. It is a part of our development process as we strive for the purpose God has for us. Of course it is natural to think you could've done some things differently or desire to have stayed in that state. Eventually, you must let it go if you plan to receive something new. "Living in the regrets of yesterday indicates we don't believe God is big enough to take care of our past and give us a fresh start, but He is". This is one of many promises of God, there are many scriptures that confirms this. One of my favorites is Philippines 3:13-14, forgetting those things that are behind and pressing toward that which are before me. Remember we are to go from glory to glory so we are to keep moving forward.
