Live Radiantly - By: Alicia Briscoe
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So, live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10 NLT
Have you ever wondered what living life radiantly looks
like? What is the first thing you think about when you see the word light? The
bible reference light over a dozen times in each translation and it is most
opposite of dark oppose
to heavy.
The scripture reminds me of when I was living in darkness,
doing what I wanted to do and not caring what other people thought. I was
living life recklessly not realizing that I was not created to live that way.
As I look back on how life was, I realize we had guard rails protecting us from
so many sins and temptations. We live in a world that has done away with the
guard rails and we are bombarded with temptations and compromise at every
turn
Last week we discovered in Matthew 5:14-16 as followers of Christ that we are the light of the world. If this is true, then the light of Jesus should shine through us. Also, the way we live our lives should reflect it. Living radiantly is reflecting the light of Christ so you can illuminate what is good and true - bring healing, hope and peace in the world.
Does your life reflect the light of the Lord? Do you want to live life radiantly?
The blessing is, God has given us excellent principles to live by in His word. These principles will protect our hearts and minds so we can live life radiantly. When I said “Yes” to Jesus, He took me out of darkness and brought me into His marvelous light. I relinquished my right to live life on my terms in exchange for His principles. I must say life has never been so good. The life I was living is no match for the life God has blessed me with. I am not saying my life is perfect and that I don’t have challenges. But I am saying I am not doing life recklessly but on purpose. I am living life radiantly!
I encourage you to live life radiantly. Meditate on these
scriptures (Matthew 22:37-38; Ephesians 4:30-31; and John 14:12) and ask God to
lead you to live radiantly in the light of Christ.
Prayer: Lord God, help me to follow Your principles by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Keep me humble and walking as a joyful testimony to the exciting truth that You make children of light out of those who truly trust You as Savior. Amen
