Chosen and Loved: Adoption, Family, and Hope
“He chose us… In love He predestined us for adoption…” — Ephesians 1:4–5 What comes to mind when you think about being chosen and loved? Maybe childhood moments of being picked for a team. Maybe the excitement of being welcomed into a friend group. Or maybe the tenderness of a romantic relationship. All of those experiences matter — but today, let’s explore what chosen and loved looks like through the lens of family. I often think about Moses. Because of Pharaoh’s decree to kill Hebrew boys, Moses was separated from his biological family at birth. His older siblings grew up at home, but Moses had to be hidden, protected, and eventually adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter. His story reminds us that even when family structures shift or break, God’s love still chooses, protects, and places us with purpose. Moses wasn’t overlooked — he was intentionally positioned. And just like him, we are all chosen, loved, and adopted into God’s family. I relate to this deeply....
